The Orange County Needle Exchange Program will be opening it’s doors on February 20th in Santa Ana, California. This is a great step forward within Orange County to reduce HIV and hepatitis infections.
OCNEP is a 501©3 non profit organization that will be providing the following
- Access to clean syringes
- Disposal of used syringes
- HIV & Hepatitis C testing
- Referrals to health, housing and treatment services if requested
- Harm reduction & safer sex supplies & information
OCNEP will be open every Saturday from 12pm-3pm
Also please note that California Law AB 1743, Non Prescription Syringe Sale which was effective January 1, 2015 allows pharmacies to sell an unlimited amount of syringes for disease prevention purposes to adults, and adults may possess an unlimited number of syringes for personal use. For more information ask your pharmacist.
