90-90-90 Targets And Launch Of fast Track Cities Global Web Portal And City Dashboards

ViiV Healthcare has collaborated with the International Association for the Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC) to launch the fast-track cities global web portal and city dashboards at #AIDS2016 in Durban South Africa.

The Fast-Track Cities initiative was launched in 2014 to achieve the 90-90-90 targets in communities and cities around the world that have high burdens of HIV within their communities.

What are the 90-90-90 Targets?

By 2020 Fast-Track cities are to achieve the following?

  • 90% of people living with HIV know their status
  • 90% of people living with HIV who know their status are on antiretroviral therapy
  • 90% of people living with HIV and on antiretroviral therapy are virally suppressed
  • zero discrimination and stigma in the communities

Michel Sidibe, executive director of UNAIDS said the following

“The world is uniting around the Fast-Track response. The 90–90–90 targets have mobilized extraordinary global efforts and are achieving results. We have a fragile window of opportunity to achieve 90–90–90 by 2020 and lay the foundation to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.”
